Mountains, lakes and sea

Skiing 

We are close to a number of resorts.  The closest is Mont d’Olmes where you can be on skis in 45 minutes.  This is a family resort but has runs for all level of skiers.  Slightly further at just over an hour, is the Ax les Thermes (Bonascre) ski area which is serviced by a cable car from the town of Ax les Thermes.  There is a great choice of graded pistes set in amongst one of the prettiest areas for skiing.  Further on are the ski resorts of Andorra.  This is quite a drive but one can always finish off the day’s skiing with some duty free shopping.  Apart from these 3 downhill resorts there are other ski areas for both downhill and Nordic skiers.

Spas

The area between Léran and the Pyrénées is dotted with thermal towns.  Hydrotherapy treatments, natural water springs and hot thermal baths are all available.

Sailing and Canoeing

Lac Montbel is 2 kms away from Léran, it has a swimming beach, fishing, pedal boats and a sailing club. It is about a 30-40 minute easy walk or a doddle in the car. We offer picnic hampers to guests if they are spending a day there. There is also a bar/restaurant at the lake. It is a nesting place for birds migrating south for winter.

There is also a Canoe club nearby at La Bastide sur l’Hers.

Karting

The go-karting track at Aigues-Vives ‘Kart’Are’ is 4 kilometres from Léran.  It often hosts national and international karting events.  The track is also available for hourly kart rentals.

Ultra-Light Flights

We can provide contact details for two sites for ultra-light flights and there is also a gliding club in nearby Puivert.
